Children's book author Rosalinde Block shares stories and short essays written for elementary-aged children in this special session.
'Kid Pie' essays cover a wide range of opinions and experiences, creating opportunities for lively conversation as well as reinforcing the fact that there are lots of kids dealing with the same stuff. Emotions such as insecurity, competition, peer pressure, and stress are worked into scenarios dealing with home, school, community— all of it laced with humor, familiarity and fun.
Rosalinde Block has been writing and illustrating children’s books for over 40 years. Her stories, starring a vibrant cast of characters, evoke humor, altruism, self-awareness, vulnerability and earnestness—“parables for the young.” Born and raised in St. Louis, Rosalinde moved to New York City after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College. Over the years she has enjoyed multiple careers as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, producer, arranger, artist, and writer.
