Join Melody for a special musical exploration class designed specifically for children with sensory sensitivities. Sing, dance, and make your own music in today's class!
This Thursday, Melody's Piano Studio will be offering an opportunity at the library for kids with special needs or disabilities to explore music through singing, movement, rhythm, and creativity.
Melody is trained in teaching piano to students with disabilities through Notable Music Education. Her philosophy is to presume competence. During this 60-minute class, kids (along with their parents) will listen for different kinds of sounds, explore feeling (and performing) rhythm in songs, create a collaborative composition, and gain exposure to the structure of the piano keys. There will be plenty of opportunity for movement, and a sensory corner will be available.
The class is open to the public. An RSVP would be helpful for planning how to best serve your child. Please email info@melodymcgeary.com for more information.
